places to visit

Trancoso is a village that has recently become a famous and sophisticated resort. Trancoso's main square is called “quadrado”, with its charming Jesuit church built in XVIth century. The houses in the "quadrado" were converted into galleries, ateliers, boutiques, bars, restaurants and B&Bs. Although somewhat sleepy during the day, at night the village becomes full of life when the shops and restaurants open their doors. Trancoso is about a 40-minute drive from the bungalow.

Caraíva is a charming village that is worth visiting. Without cars, and with sandy streets, access is via a canoe service crossing the Caraíva River. It takes about 45 minutes by car from the bungalow to get there or about 3 hours walking along the beach.

Arraial d’Ajuda

Arraial d’Ajuda has pleasant beaches, modern shops, bars and restaurants and a vibrant night life. There are also banks and supermarkets. It takes approximately one hour and a half to get to Arraial from the bungalow.
